Were awarded £15,650.50 (40% of the total project costs of £39,126.25) towards the purchase of a trailing hose shoe, flow meter and GPS system these items will allow them to apply precision slurry on their farm. They will also use the equipment on a contract basis. The project will create 1 FTE job which will bring additional benefits to this rural community. Additionally the project will also reduce NH3 by 53.72 tonnes and see water savings of 677 hectares.
JM Clapp has been in operation for 16 years. They are a mixed farming business growing forage for feedstock which is used in an anaerobic digester. They also offer contracting services, contract farming and grain for beef stock. This project will enable the farm to utilise farm slurries and reduce nitrogen losses.
